News from Simplero: Yes, you have enough time

greenland-maybe-normal.jpgDear Lovely Simplerista,

Sorry to be blunt, but you have exactly the same amount of time as the rest of us.

We all get allotted just about 24 hours or 1440 minutes each day. Tomorrow you’ll get another allotment of the same size.

It’s what you do with your time that matters.

And that’s a choice that you make.

You may say “But I have to work 8 hours a day, eat, sleep, and take care of the kids, and then I only have 1 hour left to work on my business, and that’s not enough.”

Instead, I encourage you to say: “I choose to work 8 hours a day, eat, sleep, and take care of the kids”.

Own that it’s a choice you make. Yes, the idea of not eating or sleeping or taking care of your kids is awful and not likely to be one that you’d make. But it’s still a choice that you make.

By saying “I choose to”, rather than “I have to”, you open yourself up to other possibilities.

"Well, I could take a loan. Or I could move to a place that costs a lot less. Or I could get help with the kids. I could cancel cable TV."

All of a sudden the world's full of options.

Saying you don’t have enough time is always an excuse, and it doesn’t do anything good for you, because it robs you of the power of choice.

So if it's not about the time, what is it really about?

baby-brasa-normal.jpgNew Features in Simplero

Oh boy, we're hard at work here at Simplero HQ. It's fun with all the buzz and excitement and energy, but also at times a little stressful.

We've added custom CSS and custom HTML/tracking code to spaces, so you can now easily embed our new gorgeous embedded opt-in forms in your spaces, too.

We added little screenshots of your email templates where you go choose them, to make it easier to figure out what template you're choosing.

Made videos faster to load.

And a ton of bug fixes.

Other that, most work went into as-yet-unreleased work.

Oh, and I'm loving the new WYSIWYG editor as I'm writing this email...

How to turn your anxiety into excitement. This is an absolute killer tip. I have a feeling I've shared it before, but it's okay, 'cause it's that good. I learned this a while ago from Gay Hendricks, who got it from Fritz Perls, but who cares. It's genius. And it works. While we're on the topic, check out Fear Melters. I use them if not daily then at least weekly.

Apparently New York has amazing water. I'm certainly not complaining. I like it a lot more than the water in Copenhagen, though I still filter it.

Stephen Colbert has to stop using his Stephen Colbert character for legal reasons. Sad, but I love his way of dealing with it.

Lots of love,
