Subject: News from Simplero: Hello Denmark

Dear Lovely Simplerista,

I'm writing you from Dag H, the café in Copenhagen that I always go to work at when I'm in that part of town. It's right next to the US Embassy, which btw is celebrating the 60th of the building - a building I always found butt-ugly, but which apparently was considered an architectural marvel when it was built. I guess times and tastes change.

Going back to Denmark is always interesting. There's reconnecting with my children (7 and 9), which is always wonderful. It's so interesting how my daughter Flora and I have simultaneously started to get really serious about singing. She was accepted to the choir at DR, the Danish Broadcasting Company, ie. the Danish BBC, as I was starting to take lessons with Lorraine. I've even arranged a Skype session with Lorraine for next week with my kids.

Then there's reconnecting with my other family. I love them dearly, but I'm also often reminded of the Ram Dass quote: "If you think you're enlightened go spend a week with your family." It's always interesting to go see whatever still manages to trigger old "stuff".

Each time I'm in Denmark, I have a session with Bengt Valentino Andersen, the founder of Body-SDS body therapy in Denmark. He's quite sought-after, but so far Phoebe has managed to get me a session each time I come by. And it made me realize that I could do more. If I lived in the same city as Bengt, I probably wouldn't see him as often. I see him because I can only do so when I'm in Denmark, so I make sure I get it in. But other stuff, I only do when I feel like there's a need of some sort.

But really, it's just like exercise or a financial checkup or whatever else you do on a regular basis, rather than a need-basis. I might as well get a session with someone at least once a month, just to keep the wheels greased. I don't think I've ever had a session that I didn't get some benefit from, even if it wasn't from the actual session itself, but rather from realizing I already had everything I needed.

So take that as an invitation to see if you're investing enough in your own development, or if you're treating it as something to handle a problem or as prophylactic.

New features in Simplero

We've upgraded a number of the emails that Simplero sends to make them prettier, more useful, more modern, and more responsive. I'm slowly making my way through all of them, but a bunch are already in production.

Other than that, there's been a slew of small fixes, but nothing major.

Random stuff from around the interwebs

This time-lapse video of the sun is astounding. Also, the Oatmeal's cartoon is excellent.

Fred Wilson's take on net neutrality is spot-on.

Here's why Daylight Savings Time is a really good idea.

Have a great week!

With love,
