Subject: News from Simplero: Why Do You Do the Things You Do?

Hi Lovely Simplerista,

I was walking up 6th Avenue the other day, and I came across this guy in his 40s handing out flyers for an Irish pub, and I couldn't help but think about what we humans do for money.

I mean, we all gotta eat and find a bed to sleep in (snow buddies, anyone?), but once that's taken care of, then what?

Back in college, I wrote a song called "The Exam Song". It was about all these people who were worried about the exam. They were studying for the exam. To please the professor and get good grades. It always seemed so short-sighted to me. Why would you do that? The only thing that makes sense to me is to study for life, not for the exam.

What do YOU want to learn? What knowledge do YOU find useful? Go focus on that, and let the exam take care of itself. Pass or fail, it's all fine. If you fail, because you pursued what truly interests you, it's because you should change course, change subject, or drop out and do something else entirely.

It's the same in business. Saying yes to work because it brings in money is silly if it doesn't enhance your life in some way. What is that extra money going to do for you or your business if it doesn't help you or the company grow into what you want (it) to become?

To me, life is about growth. Who am I wanting to become? What is my company wanting to become? What is my product wanting to become? If the money or the information or the whatever it is isn't serving that growth, what's the point?

To me, it's one of the most important things to remember. Why are we doing this? Who are we becoming? What's the growth? How is the choice I'm about to make supporting or detracting from that growth?

Make that your focus, and the money part becomes easy. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but it definitely will.

New Features in Simplero

We added the ability to add custom text and HTML code/scripts to the confirmation pages for list subscriptions.

We also added support for tags in our Zapier integration and API. While I was in the neighborhood, I also seriously cleaned up our API and documentation.

And in spaces, admins can now post as other admins, thus making it easier for you to have an assistant help you out with stuff without having to share logins.

New Guides

We frequently write new guides and tutorials, mostly in response to your questions.

You can find them all here on our help site at help.simplero.com.

Snowboarding with the NYPD. In the streets of Manhattan. Epic.

Thank you AT&T for spying on us all.

The Internet of Things is ridiculously insecure, and it's getting worse. Educating yourself on basic internet security is a must for everyone these days. Are you using 1password? Please do. I'm not affiliated. And two-factor authentication where possible? Again, please do. This stuff matters.

Have a fantastic week.

Love,
