Subject: News from Simplero: Becoming You

Dear Lovely Simplerista

TD;DR: I'm starting a newsletter under my own name focused on becoming who you truly want to become, and aligning everything in your life around it.

Back in the day, I used to struggle a lot. I'd put long hours and lots of energy and money into projects that didn't work out. I'd buy tens of thousands of dollars worth of information products. I wanted so badly to "succeed", and I was doing everything I knew how to get there.

What I didn't realize at the time is that being matters a hundred times more than doing. Scratch that. A million times more.

Before you can get to where you want to be, you have to become the person that is there.

I used to think it was the doing that got me to the being. If I did enough, I'd get to a place where I'd be "successful", or I'd be whatever it is I wanted to be at the time. It doesn't work that way.

Who you're being determines how you feel, how you behave, what kinds of people and results you attract into your life.

If you're busy being the person who's stuck, who's not living the life they want, who's unsatisfied, then those are the results you're going to attract.

I used to have this feeling that nothing ever worked for me. No matter what I tried, it just didn't work. It was frustrating. Painful. I felt like crying. In fact I often did. I wanted to give up. What's the use? Nothing ever works anyway. Why even bother trying anymore? I wanted to jump from the nearest balcony.

But looking back it was no surprise that things didn't work out. Even though I was trying and trying and doing and doing, at the same time I was acting as kryptonite for the outcomes I wanted. I was acting as a repellant of the very things I wanted to have and be.

What I learned is you have to be that person first.

But not just any person. You have to be you.

My problem was I didn't know who I was. I was so far disconnected from myself and my feelings. I just didn't know.

So first you have to discover who you are.

Then you have to decide that you actually want to be that person.

And then you gotta align everything in your life around being that person.

Once you do that, the results come effortlessly. Easy. Without even really trying.

You know yourself. You are yourself. You feel guided to go this place or that. Poof. An encounter. An email. Someone offering a suggestion. And there you are, the result you were after, suddenly materialized in front of you.

When this first started happening to me, I wrote on my Facebook wall:

Hey, I could get used to this "things just working out" phenomenon.

That's how it feels when you put being first.

And this is what I'm going to be talking about in my personal newsletter. So if that at all sounds interesting or relevant to you, then I invite you to sign up to my list

New Features in Simplero

This week saw an improvement to the user interface that your customers use to set their subscription to expire at the end of the current period when that's an option for them (when auto-renewal is optional).

Before, to cancel immediately was easy, but to let it expire was confusing (turn auto-renew off). Now it's easy to do the obvious thing that most people will want.

Thanks Nikole for the prodding.

The TSA is an $8 billion useless farce - 95% of weapons sail right through without being detected. And that's not counting the lost productivity that the whole theatrical production causes.

Gaga sings Edit Piaf.

In Flight article about what happens during a flight looks super interesting (for a nerd like me).
