Subject: News from Simplero: Working All Three Levels

Hi Lovely Simplerista,

Do you ever feel like you're stuck?

Duh, right? We all do from time to time.

Well, what do you do when your'e stuck?

Here's what I like to do:

First, I start with an understanding that being stuck is something I've actively (though most likely unconsciously) created, and that getting unstuck is about identifying how I have created "stuck" so I can stop doing that.

Then I like to work on all four levels simultaneously: Physical, mental, emotional, spiritual.

  • Physical: What actions can I take? Do I need to talk to someone, improve my skill level, write code, improve my website, write content, etc.
  • Mental: What are my thoughts around this topic? What stories do I tell myself? What beliefs do I have that are keeping me stuck?
  • Emotional: What feelings around this am I trying to avoid feeling? Is there a sadness, a love, a joy, a feeling of loss, a sadness, an anger, a hurt, something emotionally going on underneath all of this? Feelings just need to be met and felt, that's it, but we very often work really hard to avoid doing just that, out of past programming and habits.
  • Spiritual: What does the energy in my body tell me? Are there old layers, threads to ancestors or past lives, blocked chakras, difficulty trusting self or source, or anything else of that nature going on? Do I need to get help in this area?

These days, I'm working all of these levels. I'm working with two new developers, and a new designer, on implementing awesome new features in Simplero, and streamlining design and user interface.

I'm working with a personal coach that's really good at helping with some of the mental and emotional stuff.

And I'm working intensively with my favorite healer, Holly Star, on both deep emotional and spiritual stuff. I first came across Holly because supermodel Miranda Kerr, the model, mentioned her in her Instagram profile. I was following Miranda because my wife loves Miranda so much. I checked out Holly's website, and immediately booked a session. From the beginning I knew that I wanted to eventually do some more intensive work with her, and she has not disappointed.

I can't stress enough the importance of not just working one or two of these levels. You can keep turning all the metaphorical knobs, but if you're into turning the knob that actually needs to be turned, you're not going to get anywhere. It's like messing with the air conditioner in the car, when what you really need to do is hit the speeder. It's not going to get you very far.

I've found time and time again, that the stuckness I thought were about my work life was really about my personal life, or the other way around. We're one human being, we cannot fully compartmentalize.

New Features in Simplero

We recently launched new, beautiful opt-in forms for your lists, that are easy to embed on your other websites, including pop-ups, slide-ins, exit intent, and so on. Just go to any of your lists, to Signup forms, and then add a new signup form, and you'll see.

Shortly thereafter we made it so you can create your own designs, with your own HTML and CSS code. Of course, we also hired a designer to make a handful of really gorgeous default designs for you to use. They'll be going live shortly.

Very soon now, we're launching the ability to create your own templates for full landing pages as well, plus we're making it easy to embed those, too, on your website outside of Simplero.

Expect some new beautiful templates coming to full landing pages in the near future as well.

A handful of smaller changes made their way in, too:

  • Choose default currency for a product, so that if a specific product is targeting a specific market, you can make the order form show up with the most relevant currency selected first
  • We've improved the flow around new users getting access to spaces and content, which should eliminate any problems and confusion in that area
  • We've eliminated all video playback issues, as far as I can tell. If I'm wrong, let me know.
  • We've made it easier to cancel a subscription when there's no space and therefore no Simplero ID associated with the purchase

We're Hiring

We're looking for a VP of Growth, another Rails developer, and a customer support person in Denmark (don't have an ad for that, but email dkjobs@simplero.com if you're interested or want to suggest someone).

Guaranteed income seems like an idea whose time has come. Gaining momentum on both the left and the right. Makes a lot of sense.

New startup in NY turns restaurants without lunch service into co-working spaces during the day, starting with DBGB down here on the corner. Inspiration for when I open my own bar, restaurant and music venue in the city.

Lessons from sending cold emails.

Have a fantastic week. We'll be flying to Copenhagen on Sunday to renew our visa. Hopefully we'll get 5 years this time. Wish us luck! :)

Lots of love,
