Subject: News from Simplero: Are You Chasing Your Dreams?

Hello there Lovely Simplerista,

I had a conversation a few weeks ago with music producer Joe Solo. He's the guy that discovered and broke Macy Gray back in the day, and he's also worked with Fergie, Michael Jackson, and will i. am. Oh, and by the way, we're going to see Macy Gray on Thursday. Anyway...

As I was talking to him, I wanted to ask him about how he could see my role within the music industry. And as I was formulating the question, I realized that what I was really asking for was permission: Do I have permission to go for my dreams? Do I have permission to get what I really want? As soon as I realized that was what I was really asking, I realized that the only person in the world who can give me that permission is myself. Not Joe Solo. Not Macy Gray. Not your father or your mother or your spouse. Only you.

Realizing that opened up a whole pandora's box of other dreams and desires that I'd not given myself permission to own and go for. It was a real eye-opener. I want to open a restaurant / bar / music venue / coworking space / startup accelerator in New York City. I want to own a grand piano. I want to work with only the brightest most talented people. I want to make hit songs. I want to make Simplero the hands-down best tool for information marketing, and a hundred million dollar business.

It's really interesting. A lot of us, present company included, feel like we have to set our sights on lesser goals and feel like that's somehow noble or needed. Like we need to prove our worth by chasing smaller goals, goals that don't really motivate or energize us, and only when we've achieved them are we allowed to move on to the next step. And even that may not be our true dreams and desires. To make matters worse, because they're not our true dreams, we don't have all of our passion and motivation and energy, and the likelihood of achieving them are less, and we can keep ourselves stuck on that treadmill forever and ever.

Let's step off the treadmill and go for the gold, shall we? Who's with me?

What are those dreams that you have that you haven't allowed yourself?

Write them down and go get them.

New Features in Simplero

I've added triggers on tags, so you can now start automations or do other things when tags are added to (or removed from) contacts. That can be a convenient way to organize automations, so instead of starting the automation directly, you add the tag, and that in turn starts the automation. Just another tool in your Simplero tool belt.

I've also added some more screens that help you see what's going on with your automations, specifically tracking the flow for a single contact through an automation.

In addition to that, we've been focusing on squashing all the little things, adding more automated testing, and improving performance.

The Simplero Team Is Growing

The technical team now consists of myself, Nick in Copenhagen, and Tarmo in Finland and Estonia. I think. Somewhere in that region for sure (gotta love the internet).

And we've just added Charles to do marketing for us. And a few weeks ago we added Merete on customer service in Danish and English, and in a European time zone.

And of course, our beloved Mandi is still with us, doing customer service right here in New York City.

Brexit: People have, not surprisingly, become disillusioned with the elites in politics and journalism. The fact that the elites didn't see this coming is the only surprising thing about it. To the rest of us, it's been pretty obvious for a while.

Companies that provide shitty tech support on purpose. We're definitely not one of them.

This school in Berlin sounds amazing.

Go chase those dreams!
